Low About to Pull Cold Front Through
Numerous counties remain under flood advisories and flood warnings. Widespread one and one half inches to four inches of rain fell across the region. Higher amounts were in Northwestern New Jersey and the lower amounts were down towards Cape May. With the low now beginning to pull away, it will drag the cold front through our region. The northwest flow should follow behind the departing low which will cause a pretty significant drop in temperature. Lingering showers could turn to a mixture of wet snow and sleet with no accumulation expected with the highest chances of this occurring in Northwestern New Jersey.
The southerly winds should gift to the northwest. The leading edge of the cold air advection will push wind gusts above 40 MPH at times through the overnight hours. With the wet ground, some trees will fall.
