South Jersey Snow Showers and Snow Flurries

The main part of this storm still will go out to sea. However, an area of snow showers has affected Cape May and Atlantic Counties this evening. There definitely could be a coating of snow in these areas. A traffic camera in Ocean City does show a coating of snow on the boardwalk from this event. Meanwhile, there are returns (snow showers) quickly approaching New Jersey from Maryland and Southeastern Pennsylvania. This area has now reached Philadelphia, Wilmington, and Dover. All three of these cities are reporting light snow and therefore I do believe some flakes will fly as this area of snow showers moves into Southern New Jersey. This shouldn’t result in more than one-tenth of an inch of snow in Southern New Jersey, mainly south of Interstate 195. But it is cold enough for the snow to stick to anything and therefore even this very light coating could cause some slippery travel and coat the roads along with sidewalks.

I still suspect some of this snow is not reaching the ground and what is will come mainly in very light form. I will allow for a few snow showers to continue through about 2:00 a.m. The high resolution model of choice shows all of this offshore by 3:00 a.m.
