2/9/2011 Extended Forecast
Mostly cloudy skies will linger into Thursday Morning. The most breaks in the clouds will be in Northern New Jersey. Some snow showers continue to look possible in Southeastern New Jersey, with the majority of the moisture down below the Delmarva Peninsula. A ridge of high pressure will be strong enough to keep the dry and cold air in place. Since the cold air is heavier and dense, these factors will suppress the moisture from streaming northward. A lot of the echoes on the radar will probably be virga as the flakes will evaporate before reaching the surface.
Thursday and Friday will be dry. Disturbances will go to our north and to our south on Thursday and Friday. If there are any snow flurries…it would be on Saturday with a cold frontal passage…but the air is so dry I am doubtful these will be widespread. Saturday could also be windy.
Enjoy the milder temperatures for next week.
